Default computer issues

im running guild wars on windows vista after upgrading a few months ago after a RAM upgrade. gw works just fine in window mode, but when i go into full screen mode my whole screen goes crazy. im just curious as to what is causing this and can it be fixed.

what im running...

btw i have an alienware m5550i w/

Windows Vista 32-bit operating system
Display adapter type NVIDIA GeForce Go 6600
Total available graphics memory 527 MB
Dedicated graphics memory 256 MB
Dedicated system memory 0 MB
Shared system memory 271 MB
Display adapter driver version 6.0.6000.16386
Primary monitor resolution 1280x800
DirectX version DirectX 9.0 or better

and i have 2GB of RAM atm also if that helps xD

just curious why it works in window mode and not full screen is all

here is some pictures of what happens

btw FXCW...those drivers did not work on my comp

i tried downloading from alienware website under driver place and i downloaded the 32 bit vista operating system update for my driver and it said that wasnt what i was running, then i downloaded tbe 64 bit and it said i wasnt running that either, not really sure what else i could be running xD...but if anyone knows another place i can try to download the divers from or another driver update it would be extremely helpful

nope other games do not do this...i have tried battlefield 2142, halo, and oblivon and they all worked fine

and what exactly do u mean by overclocked? ...my laptop did overheat often, but i cleaned it out a few days ago and its been fine ever since

So this is a laptop? GeForce 6600 Go seems to be a mobility card (Laptop), If that's the case, then I don't think that card model supports DX10, and perhaps that could be the problem.

I just can't really seem to understand much of what you posted, so I don't know, just relating to it as much as I can, hope that helps any.

The card not supporting DX10 is a non issue, the game runs in DX9 anyway. I have a 7600Go on my laptop and have no issues. A screenshot might be of use to show us exactly what is going on.

I think that your drivers are way out of date, my dxdiag reports as 7.15.0011.6921 and those are not the latest, just the ones which work well for me. The latest Nvidia drivers for your card would be 169.25.

You can go tot his website to update your laptop video drivers: http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/forum/index.php?

Edit: here is the page with the drivers you want: http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/forum/...howtopic=16545

Installing them is a bit more complicated than simply running the program so follow the help guide

Pretty sure that is driver related, just update them.

There is no good reason for that to happen. I doubt that it's the video driver (but it could be). If you are running TexMod, that could cause it.
Other than that, check to see if other games exhibit the same problem.

Your card isn't overclocked by any chance? If so then it could be overheating, or it might just be faulty and be overheating anyway.
